Why will some guys treat girls like shit?

Why will some guys treat one girl that loves them dearly
like shit? You see I have this guy friend and well, he is my
ex but, I love him as a friend. It never worked out for us as
lovers so it was decided it was best we be friends. But, he
wanted to be friends that messed around.
I said okay and it has happen on a few occassions. Though
during our encounters he refused to kiss me on the face/lips
and in later encounters refused to cuddle with me. Claiming
it lead to things. Though he's always wanted me sexually.
And, claims to enjoy having sex with me. I can always turn
him one! :) Only when he thought I was asleep did he put his
arm around me or kiss me on the ear.
Once or twice now he had met the "prefect girl" and tells
me to take a hike that he never wants talk to me again. (This
time I ask him what she was like and he refused to tell me and
blocked my IM, I was talk to him on at the time.) But well in
the past, I try to keep in touch with him though fake names
on IM and well after they break up and he knows it's me he doesn't
turn me away. And wants to be friends that mess around again.
This time he had some notion he wanted to cum in me... (I said
no to that)
I know I am being used... and I don't know if he knows he really
does love me under all that. From the way he's acting I think
he does but, can't fuss up to his pride. So, he searchs and
searchs for love when it's at his front door all along.
So guys, why will some guys treat one girl that loves them
dearly like shit?
