Most of us today have cell phones, and we should not be afraid
to use them as a tool in keeping ourselves safe. On a first
date, especially if you have never met before, it is wise
to meet in a public place, and to also make sure someone else
knows where you are. However, you can also use your cell
phone to be even safer...have your friend call you say an
hour into the date...if all is going well, you can have the
safety call just be a friend saying hello, and let them go,
but if the date is going bad, it gives you the perfect excuse
to say an emergency has come up and bail on the bad situation.
