Answers to some common questions
I have posted this article in one form or another many times.
This is an answer to several commonly asked questions,
namely: "Why won't anyone respond to me?"
or "Why do I receive so much spam?" or "Why
do I only seem to find fakers on this site?".
These questions are all related to each other, so the answer
must be given in a long detailed answer. SORRY!
First off, there are more single men than women (and couples)
on this site. Each profile can easily receive 30 or more
emails a day, one person I knew left the site after 3 days
and 800 emails! You must be able to stand out and match their
stated requirements before you even have a chance of them
reading your email.
Second. The cupid rating (or stars) is a percentage rating
of how close your profile's major settings match the
profile you are looking at. Age, sex, sex you are looking
for, activities you are looking for, body type, distance,
and several other factors are included in this calculation.
The fewer stars that show up (are colored in) the less likely
you are to have a chance of making a match. OR would you a straight
male be interested in hooking up with a TV from 8000 miles
away for a good romp in the hay?
This goes for every last factor in the cupid ratings. (Found
on the right hand side of the profile under the personal
info.) You may have a chance if your age, distance, or some
other factor is only slightly out of their desires, but
if you are not even close to what someone is looking for your
best bet is just to continue looking.
Third. Read the profiles you are emailing if you are able
to. Many profiles state some additional "requirements"
somewhere in the handle, intro line, or the profile. If
the profile says "not into married men" or "no
single men" or "must be athletic and well hung"
and you DO NOT fit the requirements, you probably will never
receive a response. If the profile says "send a face
pic" - DO!
Four. Even if you seem to be a match for the profile, beware
of spammers and fakers. These profiles can usually be spotted
quite easily, but not every one who meets the list of "RED
FLAGS" is a faker. The list: A - Too good to be true;
B - Only one great pic; C - A basic message of "I will
do anyone" or "I have no requirements other
than you are breating"; D - A city that does not exist;
E - A very short profile; F - Anyone who asks for you to send
them your email address - this one is an automatic "REPORT
ABUSE"; G - A long list of "prefer not to say's"
on basic profile questions; H - Major age or distance differences.
These are the MAJOR red flags to look for BEFORE you send
an email! If you see the same pic on several profiles, or
they ask you to send your email address to them in their profile
they MUST be reported to Adult FriendFinder immeadiately because they
almost certainly are spammers.
Five. Send an email appropriate to the profile, if the profile
is well written use good grammer, if the profile is not a
"call me up to screw" one then DO NOT send an email
that says "Here is my number/email - lets fuck".
At best you will receive a response saying "Sorry
not interested", at worst your profile can be removed
from the site for being abusive.
Give a breif explanation of why you think that you may be
a good match for them. Include some information about yourself,
send good pics, and ask them some questions. To make a better
impression you might wish to spell check your email and
make sure that you are not being a bore or overly agressive.
(Unless the profile requests you to be.)
Six. Now you have sent the email out and waited for several
weeks for an answer. Take one guess. Give up - move on. You
MAY try once more, but no more than once unless you wish to
lose your account because you are being a nuisance or stalking.
Seven. You got a response! WATCH OUT! Did they answer any
of your questions that you asked them? Did they ask you for
you email address and say something like "I have so
much trouble..." or "I can not receive email
thru Adult FriendFinder"? Did they send you a email that says nothing,
but has plenty of words in it and an address to contact them
at?
If you did.....REPORT ABUSE! You have almost certainly
found yourself a spammer or pay site girl!
Eight. Have patience. Many people come on this site expecting
to get laid within the hour. If you are looking to get laid
with in the next couple of weeks you better be: A - a female
who does not care who she has sex with or the VERY lucky guy
she does; B - hitting the hooker corners; or C - finding a
call girl.
