Not Every Instant Message is A Winner
I recently chattted in person with some friends who frequently
surf the adult sites in search of a date. It was interesting
to note how amongst 4 guys and 3 ladies, there were actually
4 different opinions on the validity and success rate of
that first instant message.
One of my friends (a guy) believes that he can ascertain
whether the person he's IMing is woth pursuing after
a mere 5 minutes of IM's.
Three other friends and myself (2 guys, 2 ladies) exclaimed
that it takes multiple IM, several emails and a devotion
of time and energy in order to find a suitalbe sexual partner.
We freely admitted that not every IM resulted in an encounter.
We were deemed as too "selective."
The third lady friend said that she likes the adventure
and would leap from her pc and drive an hour for the thrill
of a one night stand, with no questions asked. But she lamented
that she only gets IMs from guys who live in places like Romania
and Turkey. Somehow, I think she'd have a long drive
to meet up with those potential encounters.
The last opinion (a guy) said that he likes to chat for hours
and days and arrange to meet for a nice dinner. While he's
cyber-courting he refuses to respond to other IMs because
he feels that he needs to be loyal to the person he's
currently IMing. We all wondered how many potential dates/mates
he's lost to brand loyalty.
I'd be curious to hear from other Adult FriendFinder people about their
thoughts on how much time they devote to a sudden IM from
a stranger. Are they courteous and patient, or quick to
make a keeper/throwback decision. I tend to give everyone
the beneit of the doubt, but I'm quick to throw back
those who seem to desire an emotional care-giver; especially
if they live 3000 miles away and have no desire to travel.
