R.E.S.P.E.C.T. Find out what if means to you!
Hey there, thank you for checking out my article! :) This
section (one would hope) can help in easing the larger,
less pleasant effects of getting turned down when seeking
companionship online. (as well as in TRW)
Please note that I'm using 'broad strokes'
here, in an effort to cover widest possible audience. I
don't want anybody to feel left out or unrepresented,
& most of all disrespected.
So, what are we talking about here? The two sides of the communication
coin. From nations & cultures to the person you pass
on the road, we all must share together in the food of friendship.
The golden rule still applies to everybody in everyday
situations. Once you put yourself in someone else's
shoes then you can try to understand something of what it
is they go through.
Without being overly analytical, or (hopefully) in any
way gender-biased, it's safe to say that respect is
key in communication. Whatever end of the conversation
you are on, things go much better when you pay proper respect.
None of this in any revelation to most of us, but quite a few
could profit from the reminder. Let's say you're
being approached by someone who (for whatever reason)
in just not your type. If you treat that person with dignity,
even if they're a total cretin, it's much more
likely that they'll just go away.
On the other hand, if you blow them off in a demeaning manner,
chances are that they might try to get back at you in some
way.
Who needs that kind of aggravation? I'm sure you'll
all agree that "paying" a little respect up
front (on credit, as it were) is much wiser a policy than
the old failed approach of demanding people to "earn"
your respect.
I must warn you though, it's addictive! Once you feel
the true heart felt appreciation that comes from those
people whom you have treated with respect beaming out at
you, you'll want to feel that way in all your personal
interactions!
Here's the best part, you can never over dose, the more
you give it away the more comes back to you, & it's
absolutely free! So, go on & give someone a little!
You can spare it!
Trust me, you'll be glad you did! In closing, I hope
I haven't been too boring or scatterbrained here.
It's my 1st.
Since I can't invite you all to join my network, you're
all requested to invite me to yours! I won't turn anybody
down for friendly conversation :)
Respect yourself! it makes you feel good!!
