Getting back to where I was.

Hi All:

Two years ago, had a heart cath, and that was a bit of a downer
in my life. However, after a few months, got back into the
swing of things, did a bit of dieting and soon found myself
back where I was comfortable with myself and my weight.

Then, last fall, almost a year after the heart scare, had
an emergency gall bladder operation and had to go through
the recovery for that. Now, a year later, am finding things
have changed if you will, and having a really hard time even
getting the motivation to get back into the swing of being
physically fit...a big part of this is that having my gall
bladder out has in some ways seemed to have affected my metabolism,
and though eating the same as I always have, have gained
about 30 pounds, and it is (no pun intended) weighing me
down.

Any one else who has been through this that has some pointers
to shedding the weight and finding that motivation again
to take better care of myself? Or, is what I am going through
simply a part of a midlife period of simply being blue, and
this too shall pass at some point?
