Recently.....
Recently I have been talking to a younger women who is local
to me. It started off fine, but later after a few conversations
it appears she has had a very rough time of things. Every
boyfriend she has had has abused her in every way possible.
She seems wonderful, but her self esteem is pretty low.
After she found out about my community service work and
childhood heroics she is suddenly getting even lower in
her self esteem. Last night and for several previous nights
I often get "I don't think I am good enough to even
be your friend". "A women who has a past like
mine isn't good enough for you to loose your virginity
to". Now I played them off at first.... I figured she
was trying to blow me off. But we still talk on the phone everyday
cause she keeps asking me to call. Is there any way to highten
her self esteem again? She is 18, has been with 20/30 guys,
has never been on a date and everytime she tryed to go on a
date it never got beyond the front seat of the boyfriends
car. She has been taken by force 3 times and that is also how
she lost her virginity. It sounded like a possible lie at
first.... but she is starting to show the symptoms of a sexually
abused person so I believe it all did happen. I can't
say I am even thinking about sex with her anymore..... but
does anyone have any ideas how to possibly help her? I don't
like seeing such a young women with a low self esteem. Obviously
this question is aimed torwards you women who can give a
womens point of view.
